I just noticed the hood tach with the Formula hood. That was one of the best hoods ever designed.

WOW. Without question, at least in my feeble mind, the best looking Firebird combo ever made.
I can't believe this car didn't get snapped up immediately. Born with drive train?

What is "axle perform" on the PHS? Safe-T-Trrack is already called out. Is this an optional gear ratio?
BTW, I like the back story on the rear spoiler!

It is a stunning car. I think you are correct on the end cap issue. I'd throw a pair of the Firebird endcaps on and include the owner-installed Camaro end caps as extra parts. The Firebird endcaps are easy to find and just as easy to trim to bottom to make it correct for the earlier cars. Here's the easy template to make the more common '74-'78 end cap into the rarer 70-73 endcap: If you run a tape measure along the top edge of the spoiler from the trunk edge to the bumper area, the '70-'73 distance should be 15-3/4". It is a flat cut, parallel to the bumper. Use a hacksaw (literally, what the factory did). Here's a shot of the 1,700 mile SD455 with the factory trimmed endcaps. ![]() And a shot of a '74-'78 endcap and where to trim to make it a '70-'73. ![]() ![]() |
