Default 1970 GM 1233464 Metering Valve Disassembly

Thanks to a little help from someone at Brake & Equipment Warehouse in Minneapolis I finally figured out how to disassemble the 1970 1233464 metering valve. I just posted an article describing the process:

https://www.musclecarresearch.com/gm-1233464-autopsy

I'm working on a seal kit so it can be rebuilt. Does anyone know of any other cars that used this valve in addition to the Chevy and Olds applications?

Nice step-by-step pictures Scott. I'm sure someone will be very glad to see them.

We restore every valve on every restoration so it would be nice to see some seal kits for these. I have had to rob from Peter to pay Paul for many years and am running out of donor parts.

I'm working on sourcing the needed parts now. It looks like all of the seals except for the o-ring will need to be custom made. The wire ring (also custom made) has a 4 - 6 week lead time.

Thanks, Eddie. I ended up buying a bunch myself because I thought it would make the kit more complete.

That is a nice write up and description. I have wondered for a long time how the 70 valves come apart. I have taken apart 69 valves, but the 70 ones I have always just cleaned and hoped for the best and have had them work as intended.
