Hi all,
Postsedan prompted me to go and find old pictures (actual pictures you can hold in your hand) of my first and second cars. As I live in Canada Pontiac Beaumonts are/were more common than in the US. My first car was a "Beaumont in disguise" Chevelle front clip, SS396 badge proudly sitting in front of a 350 2 bolt, 350 TH, notice the exhaust cuts outs and Radial Mach Sixtys....Yeah Baby. ![]() This was my dream for several years and finally got the go ahead at age 15 to buy it. I never got to drive this car, I was a passenger one day when a fellow Gas jockey threw plates from a customers car on it and took me for a spin out the highway and back. (I will never forget that "taste of victory" ![]() ![]() I took it all apart bought a sandblaster (sandblaster to a Canadian car is nothing but a "rust hole finder", floor, frame, trunk, cowl, you name it) ![]() This car never went back together, I never made any notes or took any pictures of how it came apart so odds were against it, my face is hidden appropriately in shame. The actual reason the car never came together was a GIRL, I fell madly in love with "Beautiful, (Coma) Beaumont loving girlfriend" (Later to become Beautiful, (Coma) Chevelle loving wife) ![]() Enter car number 2, How cool was I, driving with no shirt and wearing Raybans. (Tee Hee) This was a triple green 307 auto Beaumont. ![]() Here I am filling the trunk with firewood during a camping trip, yes I may have scratched the original splatter paint. ![]() When I bought the car it was low all the way around, so I added new springs to the back for that nice rake, and to keep it off the ground while transporting wood and beer to camp site. ![]() I am so going to get in SH!@#$%^&*()_ for putting this picture on sYc. Aforementioned Beautiful, (Coma) Beaumont loving girlfriend. ![]() If you are going to get in SH!@#$%^&* it may as well be worth it. ![]() This car had to go as it never shifted into third gear, and we had no money to fix it. Enter Current car, 1969 Chevelle SS 396 L35, M40 TH400, Lemans Blue, Black interior and vinyl top. ![]() Thanks for sharing this trip down memory lane. ![]() As we all know, life is short, YOLO, You Only Live Once. Ryan
