Default Mecum Auction 62 impala convert

Hi I'm interested in this car and wanted to know if anyone had knowledge of its pedigree and or restorer. The link to the car is below:
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail...mp;startRow=121

If you like you can email me at [email protected] or call 631-514-9765

Thanks,

Steve,
I will reply to you via email. I think you need to be very careful with this one. There are some red flags. (no pun intended)

According to the description, it has "409" stamped into the accessory line on the trim tag! I've NEVER seen or heard of that before.

BTW, I will be stuck at the auction from Sunday to Sunday, in case anyone wants me to look at a car when I'm not babysitting mine.

In order to help Steve better, you could email me a close up photo of that cowl tag. The numbers reported on the auction site do not agree with anything I've ever seen.

steve, my neighbor is really into 409s, he has a 100% original 62 golden anniversary survivor 409. If you really want this convert, I can see if I can dig up his phone number and pass it on to you. I remember him helping me NOT buy a red 409 I found in a barn, and what to look for (how the 409 badges are placed inside the fender, etc, all kinds of clues). Sounds like you are likely getting some already good help though.
