Here's a flat bottom dual snorkel air cleaner for sale. These were used on 1965 L78 396/425hp and 1966 L72 427/425hp full-size Chevrolets. The base was also used on the 1965 Z-16 Chevelles. The Z-16 air cleaners had a chrome lid. As you can see this one does have a chrome lid, but it's not original to this base. It has a very worn decal that says 350. The lid could very well be from a 1970 LT1 car, but no way to confirm that, the horsepower rating is pretty much gone. This air cleaner still has about 90% original paint and most of it's service decal. It has very little flash rust on the inside. The other obvious thing while looking at the inside is the weld bead. For some reason somebody cut the very back of the air cleaner off. Maybe to clear a distributor or something. They changed their mind and welded it back together. They actually did a very nice job putting it back together, they just never finished cleaning it up. Other than the weld this piece is in great condition.Once the weld is cleaned up and repainted it would be undetectable. The snorkels are in nice shape and the body is virtually dent free. Even though the lid is chrome, it's shape is correct to go with this base. You could strip the chrome and paint it black. These are hard to find in nice shape. Questions? $1,500.00 plus shipping
