ZL-1/L-88 Aluminum Heads 3946074 Feb 69 Dated NICE

This is a very nice pair of 3946074 aluminum heads for a big block Chevy engine. These heads were used by GM on the 69 ZL1 427, 69 L-88 427, and 71 LS6 454. This particular pair has date codes of 2/14/69 and 2/18/69 as shown. These would be great for an original ZL-1 or early second design L-88.

These heads are in very good original condition. They are complete with valves, springs, retainer, studs, and guide plates. The part numbers, date codes, and all 4 winter's foundry marks are intact and undisturbed. All rocker studs bosses are in great shape with no damage. There is no porting other than some grooves at the beginning of each intake port as shown. There is no evidence of explosions and no weld repairs. The deck surfaces are quite thick as shown in the picture with the dime on the deck indicator. There are a few bolts broken in the exhaust threads and one spark plug that need to be extracted. These are simply a very nice pair of heads with near impossible to find date codes.

If you need a set of heads for a hot rod than these are probably not for you since a set with later date codes can be had for much less. If you need a set for a date correct restoration than don't hesitate to swoop these up.
