Re: One of the first Super Street Cars for sale.
This is Rick Dyers old Pro Street NMCA Car he raced after he Wrecked his '62 Chevy... in the early 90's.
CARS INC was his sponsor and employer, the car was taken back from him when he was fired from CARS for inexcusable indiscretion.

the story of indiscretion ?
I'd rather not say, other than he burned a golden bridge..... We raced in the same class in NMCA PRO STREET.... we ran a '65 Vette cpe. 7.40's to his low 8's.....

Re: One of the first Super Street Cars for sale.
Understandable.
That CARS Camaro doesn't sound too bad considering its history. I saw them at Norwalk years ago, and even had a CARS T-Shirt with that exact Camaro and the light blue 67/68 Camaro on it as well.

Re: One of the first Super Street Cars for sale.
Rick Dyer and Danny Scott were two of the heavy hitters at the first NMCA Fastest Street Car race in Memphis. Rick drove this yellow 69 and Danny had the light blue 67 mentioned above. After the Camaro Rick bought Monte Berney's 55 Bel Air from California, which he wrecked and then rebuilt. The last I knew the 55 was in a collection in FL. He then built a purple 62 Bel Air that he sold to Tony Valente. The last car I remember him racing was a blown and injected black with flames 69 Camaro that he wrecked. The wreck revealed some illegalities and the end of his participation in the Fastest Street Car scene.
Tom, was your 65 Corvette coupe black? I think I saw it at several Super Chevy events in the late 90's. |
