Do you use a honed oversize bearing when your setting the Pinion Depth shims on this type of rear end?

Yes, just like Old Skool, test and set up requires the oversize bearing. Once you've got the pinion depth set, you press on the final new bearing and then check back lash and gear pattern. In this case we checked what GM had set up before we took it apart as what they say and do can be two different things at times.

Also note the pitting on the carrier bearings as well as wear patterns.
