Nice catch! Big block for sure. I couldn't make out a color on the flags to tell if it's a 396 or 427.

Re: 1966 Biscayne Police Car
I am off a year from what this thread is about but does anyone remember the clip from the A-Team where they are inside a service garage (if I recall that is what it was) and a 67 Impala blows up across the street. When the hood lands it is a 67 SS427 Z24 hood. I believe it was blue. I have not been able to find that clip on YouTube.

It's been awhile -- but I think the Wisconsin State Patrol had 2 dr Chevys and MoPars back in the 60's and 70's ... TAZ

I also know that Virginia had them in the early '60s. They were either for the Chief or detectives rather than for pursuit and arrests. They seemed to like the bigger engines too. Verne |

Re: 1966 Biscayne Police Car
Seems like most highway patrol cars were 2 doors back then. There are even pictures of Indiana state police 67 Impala fastbacks! I know New York, Massachusetts, Maine and Ohio definitely used 2 door Biscayne and Bel Airs. Perhaps it sometimes came down to the lowest cost when agencies put their orders out for bid. Many of the 396 cruisers were fitted with a COPO low-compression version of the L35 that ran on regular gasoline.
