Default 1974 Camaro vin placement

Does anyone know if the vin on a 74 camaro is on the pad of the block or stamped by the oil filter?

I think the vin on the oil filter was 69 cars, but here's an example of a 73. Hope it helps

Yep, that's exactly where the '74s are stamped. Just like the '73s. Behind and below the alternator on the engine pad in front of the passenger side head.

I'm sure all were stamped on the front pad. Here's my 74 z28 stamping

I have a Norwood 73 Camaro with "born with" 350 also having VIN stamped on eng deck "pad".

FYI...........70' Norwood Camaros had VIN stamped on drivers side bellhousing flange
(aka Oil Filter location)..........70' Van Nuys Camaros had VIN stamped on Eng Deck

Not to hijack the thread, but It is interesting that mid 69 the VIN on almost all Norwood Camaros moved from the front pad to the oil filter. My 70 Z had the VIN by the oil filter also. So apparently, some time between 70 and 73 they moved the VIN back to the front pad. Norwood cars I'm speaking of. I'm curious when it changed back to the front pad.
Anyone know?

It seems like it would be easier for the police and insurance companies on the pad.
Both of my 70 Z's have the VIN stamped on the subframe. I figured that was for insurance purposes.

Anyone with a 71 or 72 out there? where is your VIN?

Where would the vin stamp be on the chassis?

Camaro (body shell) has VIN stamped on right firewall, however it is covered by
the blow motor air plenum ("box" that blower is attached to)

NO 70+ Camaro Vin on frame ....frame code is mfg location and date
