VIN Stamping

Correct me if I'm wrong ,but does the partial vin stamping on a BBC (1970) and transmission stamped during the assembly of the vehicle.Were the stamping for the block and transmission done at same time ?I would assume different stamps would of been used?

There were rare exceptions,but for the most part,they were both stamped minutes apart with the same stamps.
They should match identically.
