Looking for some help on how to disassemble a two piece rotor. Anyone have a photo of the two parts separated? I'm not sure where to apply press pressure to separate - will be easier to restore as two pcs instead of one.

Shouldn't need a press, mine separated very easily once the 5 bolts were out. That took a 4-foot breaker bar though.

Be sure to assemble the hub and the rotor in the same position as it is a balanced assembly.

Both rotor assemblies with steering arms, backing plates etc still intact had been removed from the car, and as the bolts were seized, I needed some way of holding the assemblies to stop rotation in opposite direction while undoing the bolts. So I used the 4-foot breaker bar as a reaction brace off the work bench, and then the rotor-to-hub bolts could be undone easily.

Yep, still feeling like a dumba$$. The 5 bolts came out no problem, just can't get the rotor separated from the hub. I need to go back out to the garage and stare at it for a while, maybe my dim light will brighten
![]() Workin' thanks for that tip - I had no idea.

Victory is mine! Stared at it a bit and said to myself, "self, your a dumbass". Put it in my shop press, gave it a little encouragement and it popped loose.

Not to hijack, but related question- my rotors are marginal on thickness after machining; I've read a few posts here and there about using new rotors (from reproduction 2-piece units) on original hubs. Now wondering about balancing those, following Warren's reminder above..... anyone had that done?
