Picked up a Motion Hood from a 70 year old guy who claimed to have got it from Motion up on Long Island to put it on his Z/28. He told me the car was photographed and used in the catalog. I doubted the story until I got home and sure enough there is a picture of a hood that looks like the car he described right there in the catalog.
Story aside I am thinking of listing it for sale here on the site so I am wondering what is it worth? Condition is excellent. Chop on the hood underside is as expected. No cracks or chips on the corners or edges. |

That's a cool piece. I think most who have a first generation Camaros prefer the stinger hood and those with 2nd generation prefer the L-88 style. Without a Motion receipt, value is pretty limited IMHO. Maybe there's someone building a Green Meenie replica and will pay up. GLWS

Joe,
The reproduction steel hoods are $450-500 and those would be perfect for the guy building a replica or a tribute. IMO the Motion hood you found is in the ball park for value if you are restoring a real motion glass equipped car and you need a correct hood. |
