I am just starting to learn a little about these cars as I hope to purchase one next year. Can anyone tell me how many LS6 Chevelles were produced in '70? Any distinguishing characteristics (other than the LS6) that I should be looking for?
Thanks

Chevrolet built 4475 1970 LS-6 Chevelles,Including Convert.& Elcaminos.(Thats for you Dean)
I would find one with past owner history or paperwork to support it's claim. There are more LS-6 engined cars on the planet now then Chevrolet ever considered building back then. Make sure it's build date is not before December 1969. There is an entire list of Characteristics to look at, so checkout our Team Chevelle website as well. www.Chevelles.com |

There is a great article that ran in the old NCOA (National Chevelle Owners Association) mag, and also in MuscleCar Review in the early '90's concerning documenting these cars. If you have a problem finding it, I can make copies. As Rick points out, there are a lot of fake LS6 Chevelles out there. It is best to validate the car with some folks here and on TC before buying.

Thanks Greg, I'll try and locate a copy of those.
BTW, I work for a company that has its headquarters in Richmond and may move there in a couple of years. I'll keep you in mind if we need a banker! Do you do Super Car loans
