Default VIN THM 400

Where is the VIN stamped on THM 400 transmissions for a 69 camaro? What does this casting # mean ? 0623462 Other trhan the id plate and that casting # I couldn't find a vin stamp...

Shor,
The Vin is stamped on a verticle pad just aft of the shift lever shaft on the drivers side and just above the pan flange. I can count on one hand how many cars I have seen with VIN numbers stamped on the trans case however. A recent one was on a Leeds '69 Chevelle. I wouldn't sweat it if it is not there. I have seen various plants stamp them in other locations but that is the most common.
