You were right all along Ken, day 2 is the way to go. Tired of the cookie-cutter resto's, they all look the same! Nice job Mayor!! Make sure you send Rob a pic of your red day 2 deuce as well. How many Deuces are in Donahue now Mayor, 4? Now that Neal sold one, you just might have the largest population!

Re: First fire
I agree Dave, the car looks great! The wheels are perfect for the day two appearance. I was fortunate to see a good part of the restoration of this car and you did a kick A$$ job Ken.

Re: First fire
There are 3 with Donahue addresses pop.290, and Jon Cronkletons in Long Grove which is about 6 miles away. Only town that I know of that may have more Yenkos than Hondas.
Frank this is the car that came out of Fla last year that Marlin posted about, deuce found. The owner had it since 74. Left Ill. in 79 and it pretty much just sat down there. Odometer shows 35k miles and I believe its correct. It retains the org ctb 4:10rear, has a 68m21 and a correct, but not original speced LT/1. We think this car org had white stripes on cranberry red. The owner said it did as he had never seen one with blk stripes, and I've talked with Mr Ed and his brother and they both remember haveing one with white stripes. It also appears to be radio delete which it should not be. The dates on the back of the instrument cluster and under the dash pad put it right on the money for deuce build dates. The owner, Gene Engler wanted it "as they were in the day" We'll just have to see how hot those Mickeys have to get before they start to hook. |
