Re: Wanted - 69 Camaro, 307, 3Speed on the floor
Wow! Don't see much call for that combo. My first Camaro was a '69 307, 3-speed manual, X11, Z21, 57 57 paint, 723 interior w/a rosewood wheel, AM radio, rear speaker, PS & PB. Formerly belonging to one of the local town ministers.
If i only knew then (1975) what I know now (which still ain't that much ). Good luck in your search! |

Re: Wanted - 69 Camaro, 307, 3Speed on the floor
Cool! 3 Speed on the floor? I have found a few, but they are always on the colum(sp). I actually know where my original car is, but the car has been trashed, no engine or tranny now. The guy that owns it has several 69 "parts" cars, and of course knows this was once my car, so, it is, of course, worth several thousand dollars to him. Nice guy, but definately gets top dollar for his stuff.

Hey Rich,
Tell us more about your 69 "Tribute" car. Is it a clone?

Re: Wanted - 69 Camaro, 307, 3Speed on the floor
Yes, clone is the "dirty" word for it!
I started it before I found my 69 Camaro LM1 (and the original 70 Formula 400 4 speed, with an original documented 35,000 miles!). It was up for sale, now I plan on doing some more to it before I put it back up. It is still being worked on. The car is a 69 x-11 that I bought as an ss, but upon driving to Texas to pick it up, saw that it was not. But for $2,200 and seeing that I was already in Texas with the trailer, I bought it anyway. It is an original red/red car, rear defog. It is in need of two floor pans still. I just pulled it down to the sub frame and in fact this week completed rebuilding the front end (new ball joints, tie rods, etc etc). I bought a disk brake set up and that is next weeks project. Now, to the "engine", a 1967 Corvette 427/390 oval port heads. I got it from a local guy. He actually pulled it out of his 67 vette!!!!! !!!!! He put in one of those new chevy 502 crate engines. He had a local shop "build" the 427 and put it in a 66 impala, where it was running 13's. That is where I came in. I bought it for the "CoPo Clone" or "Tribute" car as I like to say . I also have a 12 bolt 4:56 rear that I got from the same guy. So, those along with a 4 speed tranny, are going to make up the drivetrain (with new gears in the rear). I have a set of dog dish rims and caps to complete the CoPo look. It will be red/red again. Everybody is making yenko's, so I thought I would do something a little different. Here is the url to the ad I had up on camaros.net 69 CoPo "tribute" car Rich |

Looks like you have your work cut out for you this winter and maybe next, but in the end, it sounds like it is going to be "looker" tribute car!
