Default New Shows On SPEED: A Mixed Bag

The new shows on SPEED are a mixed bag.
The Barrett-Jackson Car Search seems pretty cool. I'll have to see how it runs. If they only look at the expensive stuff I'll lose interest.... show me a resto-in-progress at the beginning stages.

"Chop, Cut & Rebuild" would be okay if they didn't use such total-crap noise for a background sound track. They seem to have this band that just jams through the whole show with tons of echo, feedback, tremelo and other effects, and although I play rock guitar (loudly sometimes) this stuff grates on my nerves so badly I wanted to grab a steak knife and do a "Van Gogh" on BOTH my ears!

Next, this "Tuner Transformation" show was the worst piece of trash I've ever watched (well, since "Square Pegs" anyway). The guys staged these faked heated arguments about ricer decals, had another argument (staged and totally fake) about the placement of a Nitrous bottle in the trunk, and the graphics dude decided that "5-spoke wheels were over used" so he added a 10-spoke - which had 5 sets of 2 spokes- making it LOOK like a 5-spoke anyway!
They "tested" the car in a snow & ice-covered parking lot, and made a big deal out of "presenting" the car back to it's ricer owner - which included a totally stupid and gratuitous a$$ shot of the show's "I know absolutely JACK about cars" token babe.

This show is a total POS and waste of anyone's time. Even the ricers should be ashamed of it!

Anyone seen these shows yet?
