Hello to all. My 18 year old son shipped out for basic training today. He'll be in Great Lakes for just over two months for training then, off to Charleston, S.C. for two years for Naval School (nuclear reactors) then, another four years of active duty. Boy, I sure will miss him. We just spent the last four months thrashing on a 69 Nova for him, just for the sake of one final father/son project. We equipped it with some nice goodies (396 solid lift, turbo 400, 3000 stall, 12 bolt 4:10 posi). We even had the opportunity to carry it to our local 1/8th mile strip for some test and tune. We accomplished what we set out to do and I hope created lasting memories for him, as I know it did for me.Do any members here have similar stories or children currently serving in armed forces.
