Guys, I am hoping that one of you can help me. Anyone grow up in or hung around the Heyworth/Normal Illinois area in the 1970's? Reason I ask is that I am trying to find the original owner of my 1969 RS Z/28. The car was originally Burgundy with white interior and white vinyl roof. It also had an endura bumper and remote mirror. The earliest owner I could locate was Larry Bartosik who bought it in 1977. He thought that he bought it from Chris Slupionik who was well known in the area for building street rods. After talking to Chris, he said he remembers the car but never owned it so I'm back at square one. Any info would help. Even if you might know the name of the dealer who was around there at the time.
Thanks! ![]()

Heyworth & Normal are about 45 minutes down Interstate 74 from where I live. I drive through there all the time, however, I didn't grow up here. However, I have a good friend who grew up and still lives in Heyworth. He and/or his Dad (& family) may know of that car and remember it. Heyworth is not that big...

That would be great Ken! Can you please ask him who the local Chevy dealership was at the time?
Thanks, Hylton
