I purchased what is supposed to be a 68 BB Camaro waterpump pulley (non-AC,non-PS). Got it, looks great....but no ID number that I can find. Where would they be, and is there someone I can email some pics to so they can tell me if this is right? Thanks in advance for your help.

Go to the Camaro Research site to get the pulley numbers and a picture. www.crg.org

Here is a picture of the two pulleys I have. The one on the left is a 69 L34/L35 with AC and/or AC PS and is not correct for my car (68 non-AC, non-PS). The one on the right is the one in question, there are NO numbers on it. Does it look correct? I searched on CRG website, but without numbers it didn't help me much. Thanks for any input!

I have seen the single groove water pump pulleys without numbers and I believe they were used in the earlier 60's on 283's and 327's. There is another part number for that style pulley but I don't have it here at work. I would have to check to see if the offset is the same for that pulley vs. the correct 68 pulley.

The pulley without numbers was advertised as a 68 big block Camaro wp pulley. So, what I gather is that I was sold a "bill of goods" and there is no way this pulley was used for that application? Is that correct?

Yup, that's what I'd say.
In the pulley sheet, the last page lists the dimensions for the various pulleys. At least you can confirm it measure the correct OD.

The other pulley number I have is 3788472 CG. This is almost the same as the 3905995 pulley except the outer edge of the '995 has a pattern of marks. The '472 appears to have a different offset and I'm almost certain that it doesn't use the spacer while the '995 uses one (between the pulley and water pump). Hope this helps, if you need a 995 pulley send me a PM. Martin
