Default Broadcast Sheet Mix Up!

Yesterday, while cleaning and drying the trunk after washing the Camaro, I poked my head around and saw a build sheet behind the rear seat. Of course, like any reasonable muscle car enthusiast, I became very excited.

This morning I followed the directions that many kind members posted (Thanks Mr70, 68l30, firstgenaddict, All American Racer!) to remove the rear seat to find a build sheet that has me baffled.

Much to my surprise (and utter disbelief) the build sheet I found behind the rear seat of my L-65/Auto 1970 Camaro happened to be from a 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, L34 (396,350hp), smog, Paint code 28 (Dark Blue Metallic) on a black bench seat cloth interior (753). It has a ZL2 Special ducted hood (cowl hood), obviously the ZL3 (SS Conversion) too. Other options include power assisted, front disc breaks (JL2, J50), tinted windows (A02), and power steering (N40). This Chevelle seems to be a pretty neat little Super Sport!

I did not even know Chevelles and Camaros were built in the same plant. Now the interesting part: How did this build seat end up in my Camaro? The interior color is different, so there could not be any mix there. Even if my seat was replaced at one time or another there still would be no reason for a Chevelle build sheet to be down there. I guess this goes to show you how relaxed the entire GM factory operation was in the 1960s and 1970s.

The thing that is bothering me the most about my findings, the build sheet is MINT! There is not one rip, tear, blemish, tarnish, or crease (if only it was to my car!). If anyone owns this Chevelle or knows the owner of this Chevelle, I will do whatever I can to reunite car and build sheet. Thanks for listening!
