Default Nova vs. Camaro subframes

What is the difference between a subframe from a 69 Camaro vs. one off of a 68-72 Nova? I read in the Camaro Restoration Guide by Jason Scott that contrary to popular belief, Camaro and Nova subframes are not truly interchangeable. (page 108) I was always under the impression that they were identicle. I need to replace the subframe on my 69 Camaro and was looking to buy one the was off of a Nova. Can someone shed some light on this matter. Thanks.

Thanks Budnate! But your a little bid far. I'm in Southern California. Thanks for the offer. I still need to find out whether they are truly the same subframe.

You will most likley find the big differnces in piercings and some location holes, but not much else. You can add the needed holes or weld shut unwanted ones. The lower control arm snubber points are different on 68 VS 69, but that can be changed out as well. The Nova uses a thick washer under the firewall mounting location. You should be able to make it work...BKH

Curious if 1st Gen frames were dated as 1970's were...and if so how might a high dollar resto circumvent this problem....
