Default Honda Civic "SI"

Wow. I had a fast as hell 85 Honda SI civic back a few years ago. I had more fun beating some v8 Chev stuff. They never knew what they were up against. Light and fast for what it was. I will never forget the 4 teenagers in a Late model Z-28 ragtop that laughed at my loud muffler at a stoplight one time. When the light changed, I put a half a car length on them and then missed 2nd and still beat them by 3 car lengths.

Today I was reminded of that litte shoebox car when I was watching the Chicago auto show on TV and Honda had a concept 2006 Civic SI on the show. Man, I could lust for that one. 200 hp? If it is as much fun as the one that I had years ago I just may have to sign up for one. The say it just might show up as a 2006 regulal production car. I hope so.

I hate to see it, but if the american car makers don't get on the stick they are going to be owned by someone from some other country.

Did anyone see the new Dodge Diesel 4 door truck? It has reclining seats in the back!. Mopar has their act together. What is Chev's problem?

Pantera,

Stashed in the corner of the garage I have A Honda with a B series VTEC with a Jackson Racing Supercharger installed.

Lots of fun with that car for sure. They really rev up.

There was previous discussion here last year on this topic. Check it out:

I LOVE my '04 Subaru WRX STi. (So do the local police.) Nothing can touch it in the stoplight races, especially in the rain. Too bad the limiter stops it at 140.

THIS??!! coming from a guy who has TWO Baldwin/Motion Corvettes (among other things)..??? Have you been taking your prescriptions buddy?? If that's the case, I'll go buy a nice '85 Civic SI and trade you even up for those 2 ugly Vettes and we'll both be happy.

Ok well it is fast for a 4 banger.... and it gets 37 MPG if I stay outta the supercharger. I never try the American Iron out of respect. Except for the time that me and a turbo Civic were going at it, and a 94 Mustang GT decided to try us both. I ended up getting both of them.

Car could be put into the 12's with a little tweaking- remember- it is only a 1.6 liter.

It's not how fast you get there but how good you look on the trip!!

That was my econo car back when I bought the big house. Had to sell a few of my playthings (Street Vettes)to afford it. I picked it up just to use as a cheap used car to drive for a while because the house payments were huge for the first two years. ($2,300) I didn't have any idea it was so fast till I drove it. Man it was a fun little car.
