Another COPO 9561 !
No I didn´t buy one.
Last year while visiting Hartford CT. on my way back to Sweden, I ran across the Tuxedo black COPO 9561 that Valenti Auto Sales in Wallingford CT. sold. This year while standing in Geneva by the lake OH. talking to Mark Hassett, Jeff, and a couple they know, Jeff told me that the womans uncle once had a COPO 9561. She then told me that her uncle bought the car new at Jack Shaw Chevrolet, but it was stolen a year later and was never recovered. While standing there this Le Mans blue Camaro passes us. I thought it looked like a COPO, and so it was ! The female owner bought this COPO 9561 in 1972, and she is determined to keep it.

Re: Another COPO 9561 !
Phil, if you say 1975, then that´s when it was bought !
Brian, you managed to get so many beautiful cars to the reunion this year, so I hope to se that twin in the future ! Talking about twins (or mabye sisters ?). I found out at the reunion, that the well documented COPO 9561 that Ed C. told me had a body # next to mine, was actually Steve Sandlins RS-COPO. So they were probably ordered in the same batch.

[/ QUOTE ] More likely the orders were processed at the same time, rather than "ordered in the same batch." Steve's RS COPO is a customer order that was placed at and delivered to Malcolm Konner Chevrolet in Paramus, NJ. Pretty cool to find 2 cars with sequential body numbers though, especially some 35 years later. My bro Camarojoe and BelAir Bob's Deuces are sequential body #'s also...and sat end to end at SCR7. Probably the closest the two cars have been to one another since leaving Fisher body. Pretty cool...and only at an SCR will you find enough COPO and Yenko cars to make these discoveries. |

Nice detective work and picture of the 9561/9737 COPO Anders. It was nice talking with you at SCR8, and hopefully before SCR9, I will be able to pronounce your last name correctly.

Anders is good at detective work. He knows where the car with the body number after my ZL-1 is in Sweden. 350 convertible car. I thought it might be neat to paint it LeMans and drop a ZL-1 in it...but the owner has just restored it.

Re: Another COPO 9561 !
Hi all! I'm new to posting here but just had to jump in on this. I've known the owner of the blue COPO for years. They put in a 2 bolt 427 w/ roller cam in it a couple years ago. She has approached me about re-painting it, quarters etc. And no she won't sell it.....yet. Will keep you posted.
