Be careful with their headers. I put a set of short tube headers on my 1969 SS-RS 396 4-speed camaro. The quality is first rate and the customer service is great but the fit on the left side interferd with the quick steer power steering box. Most of the other manufactures have a couple of tubes go over the box but the Doug's headers ran all the tubes beside the steering box and it was about 1 inch too wide. I bought the headers through Team-C speed shop (on the internet)and they gave me a 15% discount. I ended up ordering ceramic coated full length Hooker headers. When the new headers come in I will have to take everything off and pay the muffler shop to redo the exhaust system again.

-----The last time I talked to Doug (several years ago) his wife got the business in his divorce. At that time he had started up a new company called "Doug Thorley Headers" I believe. Im not sure if that is currently the case. Maybe some Ca. guys can elaborate. My thought was that maybe the real Doug, who cared very much about quality, would be making what you want better than "Dougs Headers".........Bill S

This is what the website says.
"On January 14, 2005 PerTronix Inc. purchased the assets of Doug’s Headers, a 47 year old exhaust products manufacturer and a current SEMA member."

Anyone have any first hand experience with Headers by Ed?
Pricey, but made for your car. They even want a template of the exhaust side of each head before they start making them. I have thought about it but never could talk myself into $900 plus for headers.

Thanks guys. I was hoping that someone might have a used set that they'd taking off their Yenko & put on a shelf. Am I wrong thinking that Dougs Headers were 'the' headers that came or were recommended with Yenko Camaros? I remember seeing LVcamaros HO Yenko when Ron Vorhees had it. That's what was on his car.

Yenko used Doug Thorley's. Headers by Doug is a different company. Both make fine headers.

A guy I know that has a 70 Judge had headers made for his 400, and they didn't fit. Said he went through 3 sets before they got them right. Kept on telling him that they would fit (which they didn't), and he sent them back and told them to try to fit it on the same application (70 GTO). Needless to say they didn't fit, and they got him a set that would fit, and threw in ceramic coating for all the trouble.

The product may be sketchy, but they'll get it right for you. A+ on customer service!!!!
