Default 840 head dates

Check out these 840 heads..has 70 dates!! I thought these were switched to the 291 in late June of 69?? Never seen a pair with this late of a date.

You're right,but with dates as late as E & F 1970,I would imagine they are Service replacements.

You guys are looking at them wrong. The 0 you are seeing is a circle with a line through it that you see on most casting dates. So they are really late 67 heads

I would have to agree with Kerry.
The casting date looks like "F 6 7".
Also it doesn't look like the heads are drilled for
the temp sending unit.
The latest dated set of 840's that I have had were "E" of 69.
I had a set of 291's that were dated "F 3 9".

Does anyone know when and how long the casting overlap was??
