Anybody know this dealer? I just bought a 1970 Camaro L-78 and they were the original Dealer for the car. I have a copy of the sales invoice. The address on the invoice is 530-540 West Peachtree Street, N.W., Atlanta GA 30308. Says the were established in 1869 as the "John Smith Co." "The Old Reliable"
I'm going to try to contact someone there but it has been 34 years. Anybody know if they kept paperwork on the cars they sold? Were they known to sell Performance cars? It looks like they moved to Smyrna GA at some point. Any help is appreciated. |

I live in Atlanta and do not know of the dealership, but I am not a native to the area. Nalley and Anderson were known performance dealerships in Atlanta. Anderson is known to have sold some new cars w/427's swapped in like Nickey and others. If you come up with an address in Smyrna, let me know as I work near by.

John Smith Chevrolet was sold in 2002. It is now Cobb Parkway Chevrolet. It was one of the first Chevrolet dealers in downtown Atlanta and moved out to Marietta in the 1970's. John Smith sold horse drawn wagons initially and got the Chevrolet franchise later.
