Default Resizing my 1600x1200 550KB Pictures ???

Could Bruce, Bob or whomever please say again.......how to resize ALL my Compact Flash 1600x1200 550KB pics down to say 800x600 (less than 100KB) at the SAME TIME. I have been using my ADOBE software to edit, add text and resize.....but too time consuming for ALL my B/J. Pavillions pics.

Thanks, Chuck

Rus: simply do a resize to 600 width (which will allow it to fit on ALL monitors) and then "save as" a .jpg, and set it to medium quality (3)...that will easily get it under the 100kb...but I'd wait to add text until *after* resizing...

Hello Rob, This is Chuck (not Rus)......I still dont see/know WHERE to do ALL the resizing at once. In the past Bob G had suggested "fookes" , but honestly I havent tried yet ?????
And do others think my 800x600 is TOO big? Maybe I should start resizing to 6?? x 4??

Geez...I must be loosing my mind...sorry about that! Anyway, Chuck, Adobe will let you resize both the physical and resolution dimensions in 1 step...in 5.0, go to Image/Image size...set it to 600 width (make sure to constrain proportions or it will screw up the height of the picture) and set your resolution to 72. The 600 width means it can be displayed on *all* monitors and all monitor settings without forcing a scroll bar...most of your Win2000 and older platforms will be on 640x480 and an image wider than 600pixels will be HUGE on their screen...and 72 resolution is PLENTY for anything on a monitor. And to crank down the file size even more, do a "save as", select .jpg/.jpeg, and set it to about "medium" (3)...and you should be golden.

I know Photobucket and some other photo hosting sites resize them for you, but I don't think there's gonna be any easy, 1 step way to convert them...

Another easy way to resize them is to E-mail them to your self!!! Most photo set ups give you the option to resize before you send. Hope this helps. Rich.

If you have Adobe photoshop elements you can do a batch convert of all the pictures in a particular folder... to what ever size and resolution you choose.
So quick and easy when converting large photos.
the program does it all for you.
