I have alittle interest in it, but heard through the rumor mill it is a re-body. Does anyone know the 100% deal on this car? Do you know what made him think that any concrete evidence, was the hidden vin ever looked at? Just checking to see if its worth looking at. I know I should be talking myself out it but a RS COPO would be nice to have. Post Extras: Xplantdad Reged: 09/01/04 Posts: 3843 Loc: Arizona Re: COPO Camaro on ebay. I agree with Pete a High dollar car being advertised as a quick sale. I smell something fishy. Someone in CA needs to check it out and post the findings. I owned the car for many years until I sold it in 04. The car has great options and really good docs, GM Canada. The question is how much of the original car is still there. I have spoken with this owner,I think, in the past. He bought the car as is just as I did. I bought the car from a Frank M in Toronto. Whatever was done to the car was most likely done by him. At least he took credit for the restoration. I made many attempts to contact him with questions later on with no luck.

Wouldn't it be easy to check the hidden VIN's to see if they match? The heater core one wouldn't be "easy" to check but the cowl should be. Obviously those sections of metal could have been cut out of the original body and welded into the new body if it is in fact a rebody. Has anyone ever checked the hidden VIN's on this car?

I think Charlie hit on a very big point in all of this. Disclosure - I do not care who does what with their own property but when it comes time to selling said property, you better be honest and tell the truth. When I see someone trying to pass off a cloned, stamped or rebodied car as an original, that is fraud and I have a problem with that.

Didn't Thomas say that the donor car was the RS Z28 from Dunnville Ontario! It was without question a 4 speed and the RS Copo has a M40. The floor, vin under the heater box and the wiper area has to be suspect. This trail is going to lead right back to the restorer in Canada if the Vin shows that infact it is the Dunnville Donor. I am outraged that someone did this to a rare 69 Z28.

Like I said in another post I owned the RS/Z28 in 1971 and sold it to someone in Dunnville Ontario in around 1974. I remember being parked beside Mr Motions blue LS6 Chevelle at Cayuga Dragway. If the talk is true of what happened to the Z I guess my hunt is over. I was hoping that one day I could find that car and buy it back and park it beside my triple black LS6. Who would ever think that a Le Mans blue on blue RS/Z28 factory cowl hood, tint, console gauges, custom interior, M22, chambered,410 gear ratio would be used as a donor.

Is the RS COPO for sale now? This thread was started a while ago.

When I was warned that this car might be a rebody I was told that a Z was used as a donor car. I don't believe that is the case. The tunnel is not cut for a stick.
