There getting swamped with search engine hits. Heres what AL posted earlier today.

The "bypass" the busy message was put in to cover the "occasional" message that would come up Nick, nothing else was ever intended by it being a member feature. I just thought it was a neat hack that would be rarely used.

Lately the evenings are very slow and the number of connections to the msyql server (as brian mentions) is overwhelming. The classifieds, showroom, reviews and forums all use these connections now - before they used a different method. We off-loaded most of the images to another server about 3 weeks ago, which did help some.

Number one problem is search engines, specifically yahoo for some reason. They are clobbering us with tons of connections at once. I don't want to boot them out as being in the search results is important, but geesh, they need to let the robot take a coffee/oil break. We are sharing a number of resources with other sites and this needs to be changed.

We have new equipment being readied but I don't want to activate it until I have a few days off to make the changes.
