Is there anyway to find out the VNs or how many were made?
I'm looking to drive 2 1/2 hrs to see a represented 02 SLP. He has no window sticker as he is the 3rd owner. Are there any visual clues, SLP decals, labels, markings on the LS1 or suspension, exhaust etc? Any help much appreciated. Thank you, Mike ![]()

The SS cars will have extra SLP decals on the driver's door and under the hood. I forget offhand what the RPO's are for the SS options but the factory door decal lists all the RPO options. The 2002 SS cars are not really that rare but they're a great car to drive with lots of power and great handling.

Thanks Jeff. Maybe I can find the RPOs and have him send a jpeg of the door stickers.

Look for the "WU8" RPO code on the driver's door, that's the SS option code. You can also look for the "Y2Y" RPO code which most SS cars got but not all. Is the car a 35th anniv car? If so, there should be another code for that "Z4C". They made 11191 SS cars in 2002.

SLP did not make the cars in 2002 the factory did. They could have been ordered with SLP options though. The decal that is being refered to in the door jam might be the parts identification label which has the factory RPO codes on it.

[/ QUOTE ] SLP did the SS alteration(WU8)the 02's.RPO Y2Y was for options not included in the base SS package-anything from suspension upgrades to floor mats.I believe the 96-97 SS camaros were SLP,98-99 were GM,and 00-02 back to SLP You can still call SLP with you VIN# and for $50 they will provide a "birth certificate" with build #,dealer and option info. |
