Default 1963 T10D1 Tranny

I have a 1963 T10D1 4 speed tranny for sale I believe it is out of a Impala or corvette.The code on the main case is WH 1592. It is in good condition.It has the shifter linkage on it also. I am asking $425 for it OBO. If you are interested e-mail me at [email protected].

Doug,
Just so you know....that transmission was built on August 15th '69, so it is a service replacement. It should not have a VIN on it. There should be casting dates on the right side of the case.

Thanks for the info. On the side cover it has 1 31 63 A.Are the casting dates in circles?

Doug,
Sounds like the case may have broken and been replaced, but the original side cover, and possibly tail were reused. Yes, the case casting dates are in circles on the right side. Month and day in circles, and the year raised to the right.

Verne, The letters and dates in cirles are F ,B, 21. There are two that are not in the cirles. They are 2 and 62.

The letters F,B and 21 together don't make sense to me. They're not typical of what I'd expect on an early T10D-1 case. The 2-62 can't be a '62 date because that case didn't come out until August of '62. The only thing I can be certain of is the stamped assembly date.
