From what the article states he was breaking the law when the collision occured.

"Florida Highway Patrol investigators said Lane was trying to pass two other vehicles on a double yellow-lined portion of A1A......."

That's one count manslaughter minimum.

In NJ, if someone kills another in a traffic "accident" and is measured as DUI, the charge is Vehicular Homocide and carries a 10 year sentence.
Unfortunately, the dirt bag who ran my son over and killed him fled the scene and evaded the blood test. But he's still in jail today for other charges.
I don't care how famous this biker dude is/was, he belongs in jail for a long time. It absolutely doesn't matter what his name, reputation or prior achievements may have been. Looks like he was in love with himself more than the humanity around him.....just like the wart on humanity who killed my son. People like him need to be put away, never to mingle with honest innocent people ever again. Every minute he's free is a threat to other people.
22 years old, and a legend in his own mind. Early fame leads to an invincable self esteem and recklessness.

Dude needs to be charged with Homicide. He actually added some factors to the case with his reckless dis-regard for others that may bring it up to negligent homicide. In any case I think the Discovery channel should do the right thing and drop him from their payroll as well. Not only a bad image for the the young viewers, but I wouldn't want to see viewers and sponsors money paying his legal defense.
