Default Value of a '69 copo Camaro block?

This is my first post here, hopefully I am posting this question in the correct forum. Could you guys possibly tell me the value of an block from a '69 copo Camaro? This is the block only, I do understand from some online research that I've been doing this evening that there are scammers out there so obviously the block would have to be verified as authentic.

Thanks in advance for any input that may be provided.

Tim

Hello Tim,
Welcome to the site.
Value would depend on a few things.
1)condition of the block (bore,any damage,etc)
2)deck date/code, casting date
3)visible VIN on the block(by oil filter)
4)If the car still exists?

Fill in as many of the answers as you can and post a few pics and I am sure that someone here can give you a good target value.

I have seen bare blocks go for $2000 to $7000 in the past.

Eric

Tim,
Just noticed where you are located.
Do you know if is from the Black car, Gold Car, or the Blue car from that area?

Eric,
Thank you so much for your response. I will likely be viewing the block again tomorrow and will obtain as much information as possible. From a quick look tonight I believe the block has been sleeved but I need to get additional details as well as a vin to verify that it is authentic.

Thanks again,
Tim

At this point I don't know the origin of the block or even how long it has been in storage.

Helmut, there are still a lot of hiding cars out there.
It's just getting harder to talk people into selling the old "projects" that have been sitting for decades.

Marlin, not the ones I am thinking of.

Stefano, you need to locate Brent Soles (sp).
He used to run B&B Automotive in Middletown.
I am sure he used to do engine work for the guy how had your car, way before Begley got it.
I have been told that Brent moved to somewhere around Camden.

Later,
Eric
