Default AC valve cover breather

Is this AC breather something that would have been used on the production line, or is it just OTC dress up item from the dealer?

Thanks guys

I seem to remember AC breathers on some 409s and 427s, but I don't remember them being chromed early on--did the AC breather become chrome later on??---I'm just diggin thru the cob webbs..............

'63 409 without CCCV used a chrome AC-OIL push-on cap on the oil filler tube, but it had the bent flat metal tangs to hold it in just like the earlier black ones. 409 valve covers never had any breather or filler hole in them. Although a lot got added later on......

Yes Joe,
AC # FB8. Stamped AC-OIL on top and prior to '61 stamped OIL-OIL. Originals were black, replacements were blue.
