Default No gas on May 15th ...

I received this from a friend.

<font color="red">Dear</font> <font color="blue">Patriots</font>:

In 1997 the USA had a Day With No Gas Purchase. This action makes a very huge statement. Lets try it again on May 15, 2007

DON'T PUMP GAS ON MAY 15TH!!

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007

Body: ...in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th, internet users are not to buy gas in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on May 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil company's pockets for one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th . Lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

Pass this along if you so desire to help make a statement to the oil companies who are wiping us out.

Just filled up my car today: £1.003 per liter for premium unleaded. That's $7.59 per gallon my friends. Protest while you can. But you need to protest both the Middle East and the taxes on the oil too...

Like the above protest is going to make a difference.
Maybe if you did it for a month or two.

I think the only crazy scheme that might work would be to boycot ONE COMPANY. If they sold practically no gas at all, their only option would be to lower prices to lure buyers back. Of course, when they lower theirs, so will the others to compete. ...............Then they'd all just go back up where they were.....

Oil company executives must laugh themselves silly when they hear about things like this.

Default George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline

Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use.
The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport
11 million illegal immigrants!
Then 11 million less people would be using our gas.
The price of gas would then come down.

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they
catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed
and be a legal patriot.

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for them selves.

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.

If you think this is a good solution to both the problems,
forward this to your friends.

George Carlin

I guarantee that the only ones laughing next week will be the oil company exec's when first quarter earnings come out and all the major oil co's show windfall record profits once again. When will those bastards that we elected in Washington finally say enough is enough and do something about theese freekin greedy oil co's raping the american public on a daily basis??? I'd quit buying gas altogeather if I could.
