I was digging around in the shed a while back and found a 1111498 dist dated 8M11...I believe I pulled it out of a BB nova.
This might kind of a stupid questio but ,since there's not 13 months in a year....does the M stand for march? I was told it fits 69 chevelles 396/350 hp ,would it also be correct for 396/350 hp camaro and novas? I know that some of the high HP distibutors are brings crazy prices these days...but are 396/350 hp's worth much of any thing? ![]() Thanks Tom |

GM skipped the "I" because it looked too much like a "1".
So the M is for December.

[/ QUOTE ] I think you are confusing this with a 489 distributor. The 489 was used on 350/300hp The 498 should be a 396/350hp distributor

The '498 was for a 69 L/34 396-350hp ( manual transmission ).
The auto transmission got the '499 distributor. Steve

My listing says the 498 distributor is for the L34 engine. I have one in our L78 Chevelle presently. Close enough for me. Cost all of $20 at a swap meet and that included the plug wires. The L78 and COPO should have the 1111499 unit...at least in '69.
