Camaro seat backs

Does anyone have any if a 1968 Z from California built 02E should have steel or plastic seat backs. My car has steel panels and appear to be original to the car with the amount of dust,dirt and grime on the underside. Thanks for any responses.

Does anyone have steel seat back panels on their camaro or do I have firebird seat back panels?

I think it should have plastic backs , 67 had steel. My july 68 has plastic

My car is a February car and i do not know when the change occurred.

The change to plastic occurred in 67.
