Default Galen Govier's wife lost to cancer...

I don't know how many people already knew this. My friend just e-mailed me and told me. Galen was in the Twin Cities doing a number of certifications for my friend and others when his wife passed away in WI. Here's a clip from Galen's GTS website:

"Late Friday evening, August 10, 2007 my beloved wife and the mother of our two children, passed on after a short heroic fight with pancreatic cancer. Deb was 50 years old and she and I have been married 26 years.

The wake will be Tuesday, August 14th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home, 704 South Ohio Street, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin 53821. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 1100 East Cass Street, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821. Burial is at Mt. Zion cemetery on County K between Mt. Ida and Lancaster, WI (about 26 miles ESE of Prairie du Chien). Take US Hwy 18 to Mt. Ida and turn right on County Hwy K. The Church will be on the right a few miles driving towards Lancaster. A luncheon will be served at the Faith Evangelical Free Church. The Best Western Motel in Prairie du Chien has a funeral rate available for anyone from out of town wishing to attend the funeral. When registering mention the Debbie Govier funeral.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Galen V. Govier, P.O. Box 516, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821 for the America Cancer Society and the Mt. Zion Church fund, to be used for a new roof on the old country church."

I'm very sorry to hear about his loss, 50 is just too young, especially with kids in the mix. Regardless of how you feel about the "cult of Galen" that has grown in the Mopar hobby, take a minute to direct some positive thoughts (prayer or otherwise) to this man and his family, and be grateful for what you have.
