Default Im moving to the Aurora IL area

I know there are quite a few members in the Greater Chicago area and Im looking for advice. I will be relocating the the Aurora area, are there any towns to stay away from, are there any recommended. I know Naperville is close but dont know if I want to pay the premium to be in Naperville, I dont have any kids so school district is only a concern for resale. Looking for a house that will accomodate a detached garage, no brainer on this site, so subdivisions are out. Thanks for any feedback.

Do your homework.

I live up by the boarder with cheese land but I do know that the Aurora area has certain spots that are undesireable. I think there is someone from St Charles (Nice town) who is on the site which could give better advice. (Naperville is a no brainer if you don't mind spending the money)

I live in the area, but one of the members is an Attorney and owns a few real estate agencies. He is the person you need to speak to.

I appreciate the help guys. Ill most likely have to use the company relocation agent but the insight into the local market could be great.
Im actually in Aurora today scoping things out and looking at 7 houses, main concern is detached garage or ability to build one, my car needs paint. Difficult in this area.

Look at some surrounding areas, I live in Winfield which is close and homes are reasonably priced. There's good and bad in Aurora. Naperville's too congested and too pricey.
There's a guy who lives two doors down from me and is selling his house with a 4 car garage.

I am the member that Stefano referenced in his response. I own a number of RE/MAX offices in the Chicagoland suburbs and i would love to help you find a home. i can work with your relocation company. If you already have a realtor, i also own a mortgage company and I am a real estate attorney, so any advice or help I can provide, I would be glad to. My name is Dan Macahon and my office number is 630-860-5289.
