Not a bad deal. A car with 1972 books and cage stamps taht has been sitting that long. Most of teh cars you find that have sat that long the people have lost the log books. If the car had originally raced in Trans Am, you could easily tack 100K to the price.

WW CL!!!.

Nice history and seems like a great deal!

Note the old Bill Thomas sticker!!!

These style wheel flares are too cool and often a great indicator of a road-racing history but usually thought of as some bogus flare job and quickly cut off by most 'experts' doing a resto..

It has been on a couple of times so far and has never bid very high... the first time I saw it, it never reached 10k.
The J56 calipers have to be worth a mint...

IMHO, A/Sedan cars are not the same as A/Prod, B/Prod or T/A cars to most vintage race guys...and a 1968 car converted in 1972 makes it tough to get into some venues where they are picky about "historical significance"

A buddy that I race with has a 1968 Camaro with real Trans Am history, race car since new, turn-key as it sits (he is still racing it) albeit in need of a proper resto. Been asking $125k and no takers. To restore the A/S car on eBay would take you at least the $125k and you won't have the history. Heck, even to make it race ready may take 75k, depending on how close to the front you want to finish Unfortunately, vintage racing has become a $erious bu$$ine$$ and lots of BSD's throwing their checkbooks around to mask a lack of any true ability Oh, wait, did I just say that?

Regardless, the red Camaro is cool - great way to go racing if you don't care about doing Monterey and you can do the work yourself. Really cool that Sig is still around and could offer tips!

40k for a roller with one regional win?

Maybe if it was a runoffs winner with Jerry Hansen.
