Most of you probably know about the new Challenger from ChryCo, and the S/S version they'll be making, but I ran across this link telling about how FoMoCo is gonna make 50 S/S CobraJet Mustangs as well...I can't help but wonder if GM is watching, and if they even care that they are losing a large part of their nostalgia buyers (and even part of the performence sect) to the Ford & Chrysler? Assuming GM is still in business in late '09 or early '10 when the Camaro is allegedly supposed to be here, wouldn't it be cool to have a car on par with the FoMoCo/ChryCo offerings...say, a S/S COPO Camaro?

Ok, so a 7 year wait...LOL! I'm anxious to see what they sticker them at...if they keep it low, it could steal sales away from the Challenger & Mustang. I assume River Country will be getting a couple, Mo? Will they know anything before Feb. '09, or will the dealers wait like everyone else??

Remember the SSR? By the time they get them out it will be too little, too late and too expensive. DOA--Dead On Arrival.

Here is a current Road & Track article regarding the new Camaro, seems like the base will be a V6 in the $20-$30K range with the SS with the LS3 will be in the $30-$40K range in the first release...then later comes the convertible and the top dog Z28 with the detuned LS9/LSA supercharged LS3 engine.
Personally I would like to see the SS be the top dog with a LS7 installed...SS427 Camaro, that has a nice ring to it for some reason. If I had to chose right now, it would be to get the SS with the LS3, take out the LS3, drop in a LS7/LSX and let'r rip...a 427 conversion...that sounds familiar too? ![]()

I'm not really a Vette guy, but this is about all that Chevrolet has right now to compete with the others. I have driven some of the newer Vettes and was very impressed with their performance!! They will give these Mopars and Fords "a run for their money".

[/ QUOTE ] The dealers won't know anything meaningful in advance...GM does everything at the last minute. Some genius decided to have a 72 Hour Sales Event starting yesterday...they told the dealers at 1:00 pm Monday...all our guys were changing their ads and revising TV spots to mention the new incentives....if they had given the dealers a little notice, then the local marketing could have been stronger...but, they aren't that smart. What's even funnier is this is a 72 hour sale that stats Tuesday and ends Monday June 30th...maybe somebody at GM needs to buy a calendar or a watch...or both ![]() wilma ![]()
