So you are saying it is not needed for the choke to open. That the choke gets enough heat from the exhaust manifold to heat the spring to open.

GM# 1052627 Heat Valve Lubricant (penetrating lube that has gotten rave reviews from those that use it)

Bought 12 from paragon...7 didnt work and were froze.. the tighter you turn the stud nuts,the more it freezes up be ... I believe you will find the flange gasket is binding it up and its tight to begin with, bad design ...paragon always has good stuff but these are the exception
