OK then does a 427 have a taller piston? Or do they move the pin location? Or do all 427s just have 7 to 1 compression? LOL

Rob! I can see you will let just about anyone on this site. Welcome aboard gents. While your here Casey and Mike, what's going on with the Buick sight? I can't seem to beam it up. I'm starting to think it's a conspiracy. It's been over a week and nothing. I imagine that the Ford New Holland boys will be wondering why productivity is up so high the last bit. Good thing this sight is going or you guys would likely be fathers in the next nine months. Last question for you guys. Are you spies? I'm thinking you are.

While you all are in the habbit of letting some Mopar people on this board maybe I can jump on the band wagon? Yeah I am a Mopar man but I like all Muscle cars and will admit that these Yenko, COPO, Motion and the other cars represented here are some fine examples of American Muscle! I have a 383 Dart but its not all stock so I cant run it in the Pure stock race but I want to build a car for the race and I enjoy watching these cars that look all stock run so good whatever brand they are.I grew up in the 60,s and 70,s and saw these cars first hand and thats why I like em so much! I have seen Petes COPO cars and Robs yellow Yenko car and they are great looking and running cars so I hope you dont mind another Mopar guy hanging around to shoot the breeze and put in his 2 cents once in awhile! Besides I cant seem to get the board at the Buick site working and I need to know how the other brands are doing! Thanks, Ron

Pete:

What is it politicians always say...keep your friends close, and your enemies closer? J/K! The Buick board being down has really picked up the membership around here!

Mike:

The standard 396/402/427 use taller pistons than a 454 does. But, the 366/427 TRUCK engines use and even taller piston because the block has a taller deck.

Ron:

Good to have another "convert" from the GSCA board! I guess we can handle another Mopar guy around here . I had better watch what I say about Mopars around here, as there are several members of the board here that have a tendency to "cross enemy lines" and own non-GM cars. A good example was Mike Guarise's (sixtiesmuscle here on the board) '67 Super Stock Hemi Belvedere in the last issue of MCR. And I'n not even gonna mention all those Mopars that Kevin S. (SuperCars here on the board, www.corvettes-musclecars.com/ ) owns! Glad to have you!

Thanks Chevy454 and I reconize some of the other people on this board from thr Buick and Moparts site so I know who some of the trouble makers are! Just kidding as I know people like Casey and Mike know and enjoy any nice Muscle car and would never talk bad about anyone! Right? I saw that dyno run in MCR on Petes 427 and I think it was 428 HP(if memory serves me right) which is pretty stout for stock pieces. Pete Simpson really has a fine car cllection there! Wasnt that his cars in MCR a few years ago where they drag tested a COPO Camaro,Chevelle and Nova? Ron

Yeah, those were Pete's cars. They tested them all on both Polyglass and BFG Drag Radials, to see what kind of advantage could be gained. Needless to say, the cars ran very well! I can't hardly wait to see what kind of numbers he will lay down in Michigan this year!

Ron; Thanks for the kind words. It's nice to see mopar boys appreciating what some of us other guys are doing. Keep talking like that and we'll let you stay for as long as you like. Have a great one.
