Hey boys, ring up Buick528...I believe he's a Miami native, but I know he's a drag racer from way back...

you ranggggggggg..... I started racing there in 1969 or so, it was opened 3-4 years before that. Miami-Hollywood Speedway Park was located about 6 miles west of the Fla. Turnpike, on the north side of Hollywood Blvd. It's a humongous housing development now. I believe the last race was in late 1993, and I was there that last day. The Snortatorium was located a few hundred yards west of the speedway, and there was a dirt-moto track behind that. In front was a roundy-round track, but it was kinda short lived. I remember seeing an incredible array of match races, and me being only 15-18 in the late 60's, I was in car heaven. Lot's of good times, and a couple bad times in the day...

BUIZILLA

Using your description I got this satellite image, is this the area? If so which quadrant might it be?

Here is a picture of a picture from
Miami Speedway Park (located in Hollywood not Miami)

I raced there from 1988 - 1992, missed the final day.

Fun track, well run (from what I remember) & the Sportatorium next to it
had a lot of great concerts & monster truck races. (when they were actually trucks)

Steve, your overhead pic is a little too far west of where the track was, I believe. I thought the address was in the 16000 block of Hollywood Blvd., and that's just a wild hair guess. That whole area is vastly different than even 10 years ago, much less 30 years ago. My memory has it that the track opened in 1965ish...

Jim

There must be absolutely nothing left!!! I was hoping to find some evidence of where it was; partial concrete or something, but it's house after house surround by waterways. What a shame.

Thanks for trying.
