Jim,

I would recommend that you have someone more knowledgeable look the car over with you. A few bucks now could save you alot in the long run. If you give your location, maybe even someone from this board would be willing to go? As Pacecar stated, the '69Z is the most cloned car ever, and they've been faked for years!

Charlie, what an odd coincidence. The Dec '88 SC that I dug out with the Royal Plum L78 also has a color feature on your red/red Z/28.

At that time it was the rare single-4 bbl version though :-O

I remember back around 1982 when Hot Rod Magazine published the X codes and many people found that they had fakes, I also remember this guy I knew on the Island here who had a NOM engine Blue with White stripe Z that had a built up LT-1 and when he checked it out it was a X44D80 so he sold it because he found out it was not a real Z. I wonder if he ever realized what he really had...Not many knew back in those days

Sam I just picked up the current Old Car Trader at Wawa. On page 88 there's a complete X-Ram set-up, carbs, linkage etc. for $14,000.00. I never knew they were that expensive. The guy is located in North Carolina.
