Not on any factory-built ZL-1 Camaro. They used the standard t-stat housing with no spacer just like an L72 or L78.

The spacer was used on 396 65 vettes as Chuck said and then on 67-69 L-88 vettes.

So ZL-1's had a 660 housing?

All '69 bb Camaros located the temp sending unit in the LH cylinder head and used the '660 housing. There are vintage engine bay photos of the #3 & #5 ZL1 Camaros that show this.
Corvettes may be different.
