I believe you're right. 298 is the coil I think came on late '68 z/28's (just couldn't remember the #!) From what I understand, which could be wrong, the 293 coil was the standard V8 coil. small or big block. On some Corvettes & SHP cars the General used "high speed coils"? like the 270, 202, 298 & probably others. I think correct coils is an area without a lot of information.
