Jacquie loves her cars...that's for sure!

I think she should just give it to me!

I would price the car with and without the wheels and let the buyer decide

In the past, that spare tire has brought $1000.00 or more.(read pre-stock market decline)
That's just the tire, not the rim as that Firestone Wide Oval tire is a 1969 ONLY tire and was never reproduced.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's what I've been paying...and in fact offered that to the person Jacquie bought the car from.

Jacquie,

Keep the rims on the car...simply because thats where they were intended to be and therefore thats where they belong.
As you stated, the car has most if not all of its original parts...that is what helps make the car special...why part out a nice original car...? Besides, they make the car look absolutely awesome... Just my opinion

If I owned that Camaro, I'd have 2 sets of tires and wheels.

I'd keep those on/with the car.

Okay, Okay...I'll take my flogging for calling the car "not special". I only meant by "SuperCar standards"

What drew me to the car in the first place was the unique color combo and the mean look of the steel wheels and dog dishes. I don't mind saying, by the time we went all the way to FL to get the car and made a few repairs, I have right at 30k into it. I have been trying to sell it for 32k without any luck. When I first got it, I had three offers of 32k but wasn't interested in selling at that time and now, because of the market I assume, those offers have disappeared. I was just thinking that maybe if I pulled the spare, sold the wheels/tire seperate, put some regular steel wheels back on it that maybe I could get the 32k that way. I knew that would be a big NO-NO with some cars, but wasn't sure about this one. I see the general consensus is to leave the car intact. You guys have got me looking at it as I did when I first got it again...so I don't know. Maybe I should just hang on to it and fix it up one day as I had planned to do in the first place. I'd have to farm it out, and that concerns me. I'm in the middle of a Cuda resto-from-hell project now and not sure I could stand to be upside down in another one.

Maybe a clean up/tune up is all it needs. I would just drive and enjoy it. Looks pretty good to me. Ya don't always have to be ready to spend money ya know!

It runs pretty good, but needs a little more than a casual clean-up I'm afraid. That's where the spending $$$ comes in to play for me. I don't know how to take it apart, clean it, and put it back together again. Besides, I'm not sure I WANT to know, I might break a nail!
